We found MMDT through an instagram referral and after 2 other failed training attempts I can confidently say that Joseph and Kayla are the absolute best.We have one pit/lab mix and a potcake - both rescues who are 5 and 6 respectively. They each had their own unique issues and we were able to tackle them all in our joint sessions. I couldn't walk my dog without needing to cross the street, had to warn people who were coming to visit our house, but at the same time - could teach my dog any trick under the sun. I couldn't figure out her behavioural issues.Joseph and Kayla brought us back to the basics and helped us understand the WHY and how we could help my dogs feel safe, and confident navigating new spaces, people, and dogs.To say it was a life changing experience working with them would be an understatement! It has brought us closer than ever with our dogs and has made our world feel lighter.Can't say enough good things about Joseph and Kayla as dog trainers but also humans 🙂

MMDT was highly recommended to my partner and I by a former client of theirs for their puppy kindergarten program.We signed our puppy, Maple up immediately and are so glad we did! MMDT is a one on one class which cater to your dogs needs. For example, our puppy was struggling with crate training and we had a few lessons zoning in on tools to help us navigate to better train her.Joseph and Kayla are personable, very accommodating and fantastic people just all around. We loved them so much that we will be taking Maple to group classes with other fellow graduates.I cannot recommend them enough!

Working with Joe and Kayla at MMDT was an absolute game-changer for us. They completely transformed our relationship with our dog, and they enabled him to start enjoying his interactions with the outside world.Despite consistent puppy socialization and training from the first week we got him, our dog was developing significant reactivity to other dogs. The initial tactics we were taught were not helping him or were inappropriate for a dog-dense city like Toronto.After a failed board-and-train, in which little training transferred home, Joe and Kayla began working with our dog. Using MMDT’s balanced approach, the changes to our dog were immediate and miraculous.MMDT was incredibly flexible and held sessions at our home and locations around the city that we would frequent. The lessons instilled discipline but simultaneously allowed us to give our dog so much more freedom (walking outside near other dogs, meeting dogs, attending events and remaining calm).Our little guy is so well-behaved now, and thanks to Joe and Kayla, we have the tools to maintain these obedience skills.We are grateful for the ongoing support that MMDT provides and for their phenomenal work. I’ve recommended them to many friends already and will continue to do so.

We got our boy Philly in October last year and it was clear from early on we would benefit from some training. Philly wasn’t the best on leash, often reacting when he saw other dogs and had 0 engagement with us. We also needed help leaving him at home whilst we were at work as he had been destructive in the past.Joseph and Kayla have been such a huge help not only with basic obedience but also with building Philly’s confidence. They made a customised training plan to fit Philly’s needs and our comfort level. We can now leave him home alone without any issues and he is so much better on leash. We didn’t expect to get Philly to become an off leash dog during the course, but he was doing so well that they helped make it possible. We are now confident letting him have full freedom off leash which is wild to think considering where we were at the beginning of the course. They're also just lovely people that have been so supportive during this entire journey. We can’t thank you both enough!

Grateful 🙏. After 2 years, I decided to post a review because Joseph made such a positive impact. We rescued a dog that we knew was very aggressive towards other dogs and even redirected to us . After the training, he is now a completely different dog, and getting better and better.

We started training with Joseph in July 2022. Rémy our 1 year and 4 month old Pomsky had some behavioural issues with reactivity around other dogs. We took the Functional Foundations and Joseph did an amazing job addressing our concerns and with consistent training on our end, we realized Rémy was capable of so much more. We were able to remedy his leash reactivity and also work on improving his obedience. I was so happy with Rémy's progress that we continued with Advance and Master Handler classes because we wanted to make sure Rémy's off leash skills were also solid.Joseph is very knowledgeable and passionate about dog training - he was able answer all the questions I had. Since our classes have ended, Rémy is off leash trained with a reliable recall, his obedience is great and I no longer have any issues, I had in the past. I can't recommend Joseph enough!

Joseph changed our experience with our pup significantly. We now enjoy our dog & our walks are easy. No more pulling & jumping.He can heel on busy streets, loose leash walk, and he doesn’t jump up anymore when he sees other dogs or people. He comes on “here” all the time. And he’s only 10 months old!Before it was such a struggle for us because he’s strong & energetic.We tried several other trainers but continued to have challenges with our dog’s behaviour.Once we started our training sessions with Joseph & Kayla, we learned a lot about what we needed to do to shape & train our dog’s behaviour. Joseph has a lot of knowledge, competence, and importantly, he’s hands-on.We are very grateful to Joseph & Kayla. And highly recommend their approach to training dogs.

Marley’s Misfits is Simply the best dog training place in the GTA. I brought my 2 year old Mini Golden Doodle in for dog training and dog’s behaviour has dramatically changed for the better. I recently completed a 10-week dog training course with Destiny, and I couldn't be happier with the results. Destiny's expertise and dedication to helping both dogs and their owners were truly impressive.My 8-month-old Alusky named Thor was a handful when we started the training. He was stubborn, had difficulty following directions, and suffered from separation anxiety. Destiny made me feel comfortable right away with her calm and confident approach. She spent the time to thoroughly explain how dogs learn and think, and she patiently responded to all of my questions.I highly recommend Destiny to anyone who needs advice and support from their four-legged friend. She is a true professional who combines expertise and compassion, and her dedication to helping dogs and their owners is truly commendable. Thanks to Destiny, Thor and I now have a stronger, happier relationship, and I couldn't be more grateful for the positive changes she has made in our lives.

I highly recommend having a session with your furry friend at Marley's. I have a dog that's reactive to certain movements and one of the other dog trainers told us that we can't keep our dog anymore otherwise he would hurt other humans. My dog is very submissive to humans especially small kids, but it's mostly his fear that makes him seem aggressive to others, so we believed we can find the best trainer for him to give him the life he deserves, and Marley's Misfits Dog Training is the one that we've been looking for.During our short session, Joseph listened to the problem that's bothering us and then gave the guidance on how to correctly lead our dog back on track. He jumped right into the problem and didn't waste any time as we were traveling from out of province. His methods are effective as he corrects first and then reward so that my dog knows what he has done wrong and what he should do next time. I find this method especially useful because instead of punishing dogs, it corrects misbehavior and encourages the good. With Joseph's guidance, my dog behaves well in stressful environment, and most importantly, we have a stronger bond now.

We can't recommend Marley's Misfits enough! Without Joseph who knows where we would be. We have two littermate cockapoo's, Luna and Como, and at 5 months they started to become aggressive towards each other. We were about to rehome one of the dogs but found Joseph on Instagram and reached out. He immediately called and had us come in. He reassured us that he could help and explained his training style. We started with him the next day! After the first course we took, we had amazing results, and proceeded to take TWO more courses. We worked with him for almost a year and we can say not only did our dogs learn a tremendous amount, but so did we. We continue to use the tools Joseph taught us and now have a home with two thriving and happy dogs.

We started our training journey with Marley's Misfits in February of 2022 with then little guy Max our german/dutch shepherd. Joseph and Kayla gave us the tools to ensure we became strong handlers they guided us on how to build his confidence in/out of our home. It has been a joy watching him mature and tackle new and exciting training goals and we could not have accomplished any of it without the fantastic guidance of Joseph and Kayla. The pack walks are a fantastic training option and have helped Max with his confidence and poise when walking and being around other dogs. It is a great feeling to know that we are part of the Misfit family!! 👊🏼

Our experience working with Joseph and Kayla was incredible. We completed the puppy kindergarten program with our Australian Shepherd puppy, Stevie. I am a first time dog owner and can’t imagine what it would have been like if I didn’t hear about Joseph! It made the training process so much fun, and also provided much needed support as we navigated through her puppy stage. Joseph was a able to offer advice on pretty much anything as things came up. My partner has had family dogs and thought he knew what training was all about, but was blown away by the level of training that we were able to achieve with Stevie through the guidance of Joseph and Kayla. When I was first researching dog training programs, I was hesitant about making the investment but I can confidently say that it was worth every penny and more. It was truly the best thing we could have done for Stevie. We can’t wait to continue training with Marley’s Misfits!
